An ordnance factory worker is struggling for life after a friend’s prank went wrong. According to sources, the victim’s intestine was filled with compressed air through his rectum by a high-power compressor. The incident occurred on Thursday in Murad Nagar locality of Ghaziabad but was reported on Friday night.
The police said the victim, Rajendra Singh, alias Pintu (30), was a contractual worker in the HSF section at the State-owned ordnance factory in Murad Nagar.
During their lunch break, he and his friends were sitting near factory’s compressor house.
As a joke, one of the friends and co-worker, identified as Ankit, inserted the air pipe of the compressor into Pintu’s rectum and opened the valve of the compressor through which the air balooned his intestine.
However, when Pintu started complaining of serious pain in his stomach, some other friends rushed him to the nearby Jeewan Nursing Home in Modi Nagar where doctors provided him first aid and referred him to Meerut Medical College. “Pintu’s intestine could have ruptured. We can only determine the exact damage after the ultrasound report,” said a doctor at Meerut Medical College.
“If the intestine is found ruptured, it should be repaired immediately otherwise the infection would spread on the entire body, which would be difficult to stop at a later stage,” said Dr Rajiv Tyagi.
“Such incident reflects dangerous behaviour ailing our society. It is like a mental disorder which poses a serious threat to others,” said a psychiatrist.
“A criminal case under Section 324 and 500 of the IPC has been registered against Ankit for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means following the victim’s elder brother Harendra Singh’s complaint at Murad Nagar police station,” said Jagdish Sharma the SP Rural Ghaziabad.
