A case of alleged child swapping has been reported in a city hospital. A man has complained that his newborn was swapped in a Government hospital in Ghaziabad, police said Saturday. However, the hospital authorities denied the incident.
Sonu, a resident of Daulatpura, said that Friday night he was informed that his wife had delivered a boy but Saturday morning a nurse told him that his wife Rajani gave birth to a girl, police said. Rajani accused the hospital for having played a fraud with them by swapping their male child with a girl child. When asked, Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) of the Government Women Hospital Dr Kalpna Gupta refuted the allegations.
She said the authorities were ready to conduct any medical examination, like DNA test, to dispel the family's doubts about baby swapping.
