A city court on Saturday ordered registration of FIR against CM Sheila Dikshit and others for allegedly misusing Government funds for a 2008 pre-Assembly poll advertising campaign. Special Judge Narottam Kaushal pronounced, on separate complaints filed by BJP leader Vijender Gupta and RTI activist Vivek Garg against Dikshit, that funds to the tune of Rs 22.56 crore have been used in an advertising campaign ahead of the 2008 Assembly polls. They sought an FIR against those involved under Section 409 IPC. Director of Prosecution B S Joon said that the lokayukta has not pointed out dishonest intention for misappropriating public money by Dikshit and President’s decision would be final in the matter.
