A female MP from Rajasthan has alleged that she had been receiving threatening and obscene messages on her mobile phone from a stranger. The victim alleged that she has received around five such messages in the last week of June.

The MP reported the matter at Tughlak Road Police station on Thursday morning and an FIR was registered. According to police report, the messages were largely abusive and obscene in nature. When probed, the number was traced to Alwar in Rajasthan. Following investigation, the accused told police that his wife had gone missing and one of his friends had given him the number of the MP saying his wife would come back if he called and messaged on the number given. “He was upset over the disappearance of his wife. When he did not get a response, he started sending abusive, obscene texts,” informed a source. “A case under 66 Information Technology Act was registered and a team has been sent to Alwar to arrest him. His claims would be verified,” said ACP(New Delhi) SBS Tyagi.
