last date to apply for DDC posts extended

Following media criticism, the Aam Aadmi Party Government on Saturday issued advertisements extending the last date for applying for the posts of facilitators and interns in the Delhi Dialogue Commission (DDC) till April 24.

The AAP Government had on Thursday issued advertisements in select newspapers for filling up vacancies for the post of facilitators and interns in the Delhi Dialogue Commission. However, the last date for applying for the posts was Friday (April 17, 2015). In a fresh advertisement issued on Saturday, the last date of applying for the posts has been extended till April 24.

It may be noted that contrary to the procedures, DDC had issued the advertisement for filling up posts without approval of lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung, which has raised many eyebrows not only from political parties but also from top officials. Taking serious note, Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay had demanded an enquiry into functioning of DDC.

The advertisement asked for “a master’s degree in bijli, clean water, clean Yamuna, Delhi Dehat, unauthorised colonies, jhuggis-jhopri, mobile par sarkar, speedy justice, price rise, neat and clean Delhi, wi-fi and CCTV, governance, transport, pollution, health and education.” The officer said: “We have not heard about Master’s degree on unauthorised colonies or jhuggi-jhopris or bijli or pani, Delhi dehat.” The DDC advertisement has no clarity on pay and perks (read consolidated amount) to facilitators and interns. Besides, qualification for the post of facilitator is a Master’s degree in relevant subject and/or work experience of three years or more in relevant subject area.
