A day after sacking Delhi’s Food and Supplies Minister Asim Ahmed Khan over graft charges, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has called a meeting of all Aam Aadmi Party (AAM) MlAs and their families on Sunday evening to warn them against indulging in corrupt practices. Kejriwal said he would remind his party leaders of their motive of entering the political battlefield. He tweeted that he will warn the MlAs and his families that the Asim Ahmed Khan episode should not happen again.

“Meeting all MlAs, with families, tomorrow (Sunday) evening,” Kejriwal tweeted, adding, “To remind them why we came in politics. To warn them that Asim Khan episode should not happen again.”

The dramatic announcement took place at a Press conference on Friday where Kejriwal played an audio tape of a conversation purportedly involving Khan, an unnamed builder and a middleman.

The meeting with all party MlAs will take place at his Flag Staff Residence. AAP’s Delhi unit secretary Dilip Pandey said, “We can tolerate poverty, insults, but not corruption... MlA meeting is to reiterate this ideology of the party.” The formation of AAP has its roots in social activist Anna Hazare’s anti-graft crusade movement. and the party has 67 legislators in the 70-member Delhi Assembly, with the BJP holding remaining three seats.
