Kejri fails to draw crowd in Bangalore

Even though he was fuming on media throughout his road show, the day one of AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal’s two-day campaign evoked a very poor response in Bangalore on Saturday. Kejriwal was campaigning for AAP candidates in three parliamentary constituencies of Bangalore North, Bangalore South and Bangalore Central.

Former Delhi CM’s road show drew only some curiosity among onlookers when the cavalcade passed through the roads but failed to create any kind of political impact. All along the road show, onlookers refused to wear the AAP caps offered by party’s members. Unperturbed by the volley of criticisms on his remark on media in Nagpur, Kejriwal defended his remark and said, “Has media got the guts to expose ModiIJ They are only repeating all the lies he tells in campaign speeches about the so-called development in Gujarat.”

He questioned the credibility of the media in projecting BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi as a person of change. He said, “There are many truths about Modiji’s development. But the question is which media house would show thatIJ Isn’t it true 6,000 small industries closed during Modiji’s regimeIJ Isn’t it true that there is huge corruption in Gujarat even 11 years after Modiji took overIJ Isn’t it true that 800 farmers committed suicide during Modiji’s regime would media have the courage to tell the truth about GujaratIJ Why did some section of media lie about Modiji’s developmentIJ”

AAP cavalcade unlike rallies of other political parties did not affect the Saturday normal life in Bangalore. With no traffic jams and complaint anywhere of stranded traffic, city police heaved a sigh of relief. After a low-key road show, Arvind Kejriwal attended a fund raising dinner in a posh hotel in Bangalore. According to AAP sources, around 250 invited guests attended the dinner organised by the Well Wishers of AAP, which was barred for media.

People from different walks of life have been invited and paid to have simple vegetarian dinner with Kejriwal. It is not just dinner but also some political discussion Kejriwal, AAP sources claimed. Former Infosys CFO and AAP candidate from Bangalore Central V Balakrishnan was behind this initiative.
