Kadalpur village community protests against Durga Shakti

Around 100 people of the minority community of Kadalpur village on Saturday staged a protest at Greater Noida Collector's office and demanded that Durga Shakti Nagpal, a 2009 batch IAS officer suspended last week, be punished for her demolition drive.

They also demanded appropriate action against Gautam Budh Nagar District Magistrate (DM) Kumar Ravikant Singh, who in his report to the Uttar Pradesh Government, said Nagpal has not given any order to demolish any religious structure. Agitators said he was protecting Nagpal with a false report. "She has hurt the sentiments of Muslims by demolishing the wall of an under-construction mosque. We demand an FIR against her. The DM's report is totally baseless," said Aarif, a resident. However, Singh said the villagers themselves had dismantled illegal construction as it was being constructed on Gam Sabha land.

Several political parties' workers and local leaders were also present along with the protesters. The workers were raising slogans against the suspended IAS officer.
