JNU councillor alleges door to his room defaced

A councillor from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, on Saturday morning alleged that the door to his room was defaced and the national flag sticker pasted on his door was torn.

The student, Arnab Chakraborty, a resident of Mahi-Mandvi Hostel, was elected councillor in 2015 elections. He, however, is not affiliated to any students' group and contested the elections as an independent candidate. The hostel authorities confirmed that someone apparently defaced the door of room number 116 and a complaint has been received.

According to Arnab Chakraborty, he discovered paints at his door step as he walked out early morning on Saturday. "As I looked up I saw an anti-ABVP graffiti. On the floor was the torn pieces of the sticker of the national flag I pasted on my door. It was around 5.30 am and the paint was almost dry. So I can't say at what time this must have been done. But things are getting scary as I am not even an ABVP activists."

The matter was brought to the notice of the warden of the hostel and a complaint was filed by the student.
