The Jawaharlal Nehru University student who was attacked by her classmate a few days ago and is being treated at Safdarjung Hospital, is showing signs of recovery. The doctors, on Saturday, said after removing her endotracheal tube, the CT scan does not show the blood clot any more.

“We removed her ventilater a day before and now endotracheal tube was also removed. She is breathing fine, which is good and the fear of blood clot in her brain is no more there as the CT scan report was normal,” said Karamchand Sharma, Head of Department of the Neurology.

Doctors, however, maintained that she had a long way to go and that her well-being would be established only after she is able to make verbal responses. Doctors fear her speech might be affected. "It will take her a long time to recover. There is no chance of surgery at this moment; treatment will go on,” said Sharma. Her blood pressure, body temperature, breathing pattern and blood parameters are under constant observation," Sharma added.
