It's salsa time

The stage is all set, the music is in place and so is the grand venue at  Jaypee Greens — Atlantis Club. The reason for all this preparationIJ Asia’s three-day latin dance festival, India Fiesta latina 2013, is arriving in NCR from April 12 to 14.

While everyone is gearing up to be a part of this one-of-a-kind carnival, there are others who are waiting to watch some memorable performances. “It is not just the workshops by reputed instructors that is going to be the highlight. Even the parties and the performances are going to be high octane. It is going to be one fun 48 hours,” a salsa dance intructor in the Capital tells you.

The theme this year is ABCDS — Any Body Can Dance Salsa — to attract beginners. “With this theme the festival will have salsa workshops for beginners where they will learn the dance in the first half of the day and perform in the evening! There will also be Bollywood, hip-hop and belly dancing in the carnival,” Sunil Chopra, the organiser, says.

Chopra tells you that last year’s response was great. “People are more interested in salsa which is a fun way to stay fit. Hope we will get to see more of such dancers at the event this year,” Chopra says.

The festival is open to people from all age groups.  Over 80 renowned artists across the globe will be performing. A workshop and party pass (including International shows, party and after party), costs Rs2,500, a day’s access pass (including workshop, international shows, party and after party) costs Rs3,500. For all three days, you need to pay Rs 9,000.
