High eggspectation

If you are looking to sample something fresh and new head to Eggspectation, the 24-hour resto café at the Jaypee Group of Hotels. With over 120 dishes to choose from and a variety of new add-ons to the menu, the resto bar has something to offer to everybody.

“There is a little something for everyone to relish. Our veg specials have been dished out keeping in mind the vegetarian sensibilities. It was a challenge to make a soft crepe without beating eggs into it but we tried other vegan means to get it in order. The result is exemplary. My vegan guests tell me that there is no place else in New Delhi that can dish out so many yummy delights,” Enzo Renda, CEO Eggspectation, reveals.

All this while, he insists that one must try the cafe’s smoked wild salmon crosstini and the chicken roulade. “My dishes have a very strong French, Italian and Canadian influence so you are bound to find an authentic french toast, some herbed pasta and also some freshly baked smores sandwich. We have not tried to deliberately over-Indianise the food by adding spices etc. The aim is to give our guests an unique experience so that they come to us again and again,” Renda says. He adds that it is the Smores Sandwich sell like hotcakes.

Don’t get too lost in the soft pancakes with maple syrup because the burgers and the flat breads vye for attention. “We have spent months in generating this new menu for the cafe. Eggspectation means much more than just eggs. We have a whole range of other goodies that we wanted to bring to the surface as well,” he says, stressing on the fact that this resto cafe was one of the first places which started a Sunday brunch.

“Many restaurants have included a  brunch in their repertoire but our concept is still very different. We give our guests the freedom to choose from the menu. They can order any amount of any dish on that menu and pay one price for it,” Renda says.

Another must have at this franchise of the popular Candian chain is the fire roasted leg of lamb which is succulent with just the right amount of spice. “Our guests keep coming back to us because the food is fresh, there is an innovative menu to pick from, it is priced decently and the portion sizes are very satisfying,” he concludes.
