A 33-year-old doctor with a private hospital in Gurgaon was arrested on Saturday after his 27-year-old sister lodged a complaint with police accusing him of raping her over nine years.
In her FIR with Manesar police station, the woman alleged her brother had been raping her since 2005, when she was a Class XII student. She said the abuse continued even after his marriage.
She told the police she had endured the ordeal all these years as the family doted on her brother, the only son among five sisters, and also because she feared the stigma. Their mother too had also dissuaded her from reporting the matter.
To avoid the abuse, she had moved out to live with her elder sister. But the doctor-brother continued to rape her on visits home. After nine years of suffering, she had finally had enough and decided to approach police.
