“I have been waiting for this title for the past few months and when Take-Two interactive software announced the release of this game, I knew I wanted the first box to myself. There is always the special place for the first copy,” Anshuman Singh, a software engineer and an avid gamer tells you. He was one among the 1,500 people who had gathered outside The Game Shop in the Capital to get hands on the copy.
This iconic interactive entertainment series, has achieved worldwide acceptance and the makers of this game have already touted it as a big hit. “The response GTA V has got is not surprising. People have been waiting for this game for five years. The reviews have started pouring in and most people say, Rockstar Games continues to redefine interactive gaming. They know the pulse of the gamer and they stick to the basics,” Ashish Mathur of Gaming Solutions a game shop in Noida says.
According to gaming developers in the country, there has been a steady growth in the demand for interactive games. “As per our latest figures, there are about 1 lakh PS 3 games being sold ever month in India. There are more than 3 lakh XBOX copies sold and a little over 70,000 PS2 games being sold yearly. These numbers are on a upward spiral,” Dhanjay Sarkar an independent gaming developer in New Delhi, says.
The game which costed $266 million to develop, an amount larger than the budgets of most sci-fi films has got reviews that says — if you’re a fan of the series you should definitely buy GTA V!
