'Govt making all efforts to secure release of Indian priest in Yemen'

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said India is making all efforts to secure the release of the abducted Indian priest in Yemen. She has also appealed to all Indians to move out of the conflict zone and return to safe areas.

“Fr Tom Uzhunnallil — an Indian national from Kerala was abducted by a terror group in Yemen. We are making all efforts to secure his release,” Swaraj tweeted on Saturday, after speculations were made that the Indian priest is under ISIS captivity and is likely to be executed soon. However, Swaraj’s tweets raised hope that Father Tom is alive. The priest was abducted after the militants attack an old age home in Yemen and killed several people including an Indian nurse.
