Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Saturday said that the Congress party will fair well in the forthcoming lok Sabha polls and offered to resign from his chair if the party fails to secure less than seven seats.
“We are going to fair well in the 2014 polls and I’ll resign if the party fails to secure more seats than last parliamentary polls — seven seats out of total 14 lok Sabha seats in Assam’” said Gogoi.
The CM also announced that the party will go to the 2014 lok Sabha polls with its report card. “We are going to give our report card to the people by January this year. The report card will include every detail — the performance of the Congress-led Government in last 12 years as well the performance of past Government by other parties,” said Gogoi. “The people after receiving the report card could analyse what we have done in the last 12 years. We also urge the Opposition to come up with their report cards,” he said.
