Four accused tried by saket fast track court

Hearing in the December 16 gang-rape pertaining to the other four accused is ongoing in a fast track court in Saket. All 85 witnesses have been cross-examined and final arguments have begun in court by the defence counsel. The counsel for the accused, Vinay Sharma and Akshay Thakur, in his final arguments before Additional Sessions Judge Yogesh Khanna on Friday, alleged that the probe in the case was manipulated and evidence against his clients planted. The lawyer also questioned the priority given to this particular case by the Metropolitan Magistrate during the initial stage of proceedings, as “hearings were held after normal court hours without any specific instruction from any judicial authority”.
