The capital city of Chennai is limping back to normalcy as motor pumps have been deployed round-the-clock to drain out the flood waters from low lying areas in the capital city. Schools and Colleges in Chennai remained closed on Saturday as most of the bus services in the city remained disrupted.
No untoward incidents were reported from anywhere in Tamil Nadu on Saturday. But the forecast by the Indian Meteorological department that the low pressure moving along the Bay of Bengal coast may get strengthened and could bring another bout of heavy rains have put both the government and the people on guard.
Travellers in the Chennai-Bangalore National Highway faced severe hardship because of big potholes in the entire stretch of the four-lane road. The heavy rains during the last four days have damaged the major stretch of this important highway.
