A father who suffered from a fear psychosis that his son would kill him, ended up murdering his own child. The accused identified as Kuldeep was arrested from the spot itself. The deceased identified as Vivek Kumar was battered to death with an iron rod by his father in South-West Delhi’s Dabri area in the early hours of Saturday as the latter was irked by his son’s regular advice to find a job and earn some money for the family. The iron rod used in the commission of the crime was also recovered by the police.
Vivek Kumar, worked at a private firm and was the sole breadwinner of the family, lived with his parents, wife and three brothers in Vishwas Park residential colony near Dabri. His wife was out of town when the incident took place. last night after dinner, Vivek and Kuldeep had an argument over his father’s unemployment during which the son asked his father to find some job and earn so that he can support his family. “At around 5 am, when Vivek was sleeping in his bedroom, Kuldeep attacked him with the iron rod and hit him repeatedly,” said a police official. The attack was so quick and brutal that Vivek died on the spot due to excessive bleeding from his head injuries.
Hearing the commotion, the other family members and neighbours reached the spot and caught Kuldeep who was later handed over to the police. A case of murder has been registered at Dabri police station and Kuldeep has been arrested. Further investigations are underway.
