Following the directions of electoral office of Delhi, the Excise Department has worked out a detailed mechanism and strategy for monitoring and checking of distribution of illegal liquor during the election period. Special enforcement staff and patrolling teams have been deployed for checking of border areas. The Excise Department has started close coordination with PCR, Flying squad teams and Static Surveillance teams for taking prompt action on the complaints received and forwarded by Excise Department.
All Excise liquor Bonded Warehouses and retail vends of liquor have been put under 24X7 CCTV monitoring to ensure that no liquor is supplied and sold for inducing the voters. The department has been directed to coordinate with excise commissioners of neighbouring States — Haryana and UP — to ensure effective monitoring of interstate movement of liquor.
