Trinamool Congress' trade union leader Dola Sen on Saturday filed her nomination for the March 20 by-election to the Rajya Sabha seat from West Bengal that fell vacant after the resignation of party MP Srinjoy Bose.
TMC nominated Sen to the seat on March 4 after party supremo Mamata Banerjee approved the screening committee’s proposal in this regard.
Sen had last year lost the Asansol lok Sabha seat to Union Minister Babul Supriyo by a margin of over 70,000 votes. Since then she has been concentrating on her organisational role as a trade union leader.
