Following the investigation into the murder of 42-year-old Rehana Chaudhary, the slain wife of BSP MlA Haji Aleem Chaudhary in UP, the Delhi Police on Saturday detained the driver and a relative of Chaudhary for questioning.
A senior police official confirmed that they were detained for questioning after scrutiny of their phone call detail record (CDR). “During the examination of CDR, it was found that the driver of the MlA and one of his relatives were present in Jafrabad area on the day of the murder of the MlA’s wife,” he said.
Earlier, it was revealed that Rehana had last spoken to three persons — her sister, a shopkeeper of a phone recharge store and her husband. Police have also been questioning the MlA’s younger brother, who had reached Welcome Police Station in North East Delhi on Friday evening to join the investigation. Police sources said that after brutally killing Rehana, the hired contract killer took out the SIM card from the victim’s cell phone and threw it away.
