Cong MlA 'forcibly' inaugurates two 'half-done' elevated corridors

Former Delhi Congress MlA Devendra Yadav “forcibly” inaugurated two elevated corridors on Outer Ring Road from Mangolpuri to Madhuban Chowk and Madhuban Chowk to Mukarba Chowk on Saturday morning.

PWD officials claimed that the inauguration was unofficial and forceful as the corridors weren’t fit to be opened for public as yet.

Yadav claimed that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was supposed to inaugurate the corridors on January 1 this year but as the CM missed the deadline he took the call and opened those for public.

He said that the project was initiated under Congress rule and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) unnecessarily wanted to claim credit for it.

“These two flyovers were ready to be used by public but were waiting an opening ceremony,” said Yadav.

The corridors were opened for public in presence of 1500 congress supporters and the local public. “Arvind Kejriwal had put billboards last year claiming that these corridors will be opened on January 1 this year but the corridors did not start functioning nor did they (Kejriwal and Ministers) made any move in this regard,” Yadav said.

“Despite of making a promise of presenting this corridor to public as a New Year gift, Kejriwal seemed

to be a ‘busy as a beaver’,” added Yadav.

“Public can’t wait for an ‘opening ceremony’ by these so-called AAP leaders who have no time for public convenience,” added Yadav.

The Ex-MlA took on AAP for implementing even-odd implied saying, “On one side they are enforcing such formula to decongest roads while on the other hand these key elevated roads are being kept closed only because the Ministers have no time to inaugurate them.”

The other two elevated corridors from Vikaspuri to Meera Bagh and Mukarba Chowk to Wazirabad under the signal-free project are still under construction.         SR
