Sandy’s Cocktail and Kitchen in Gurgaon is all about mixing your food with lively conversations and indulging in all art forms. Varnika Gupta visited the first chapter to tell us how well art and wine blend
Art and wine could make a heady cocktail; or so the owners of Sandy’s Cocktail and Kitchen want us to believe. Aptly titled the ‘Night of Renaissance’, this new theme is driving in the young and old to this hub in sector 29, Gurgaon. It is here that artists from different genres like literature, painting, sculpture, music, theatre and the works come together every Tuesday to showcase their talents, mingle with like-minded people and enjoy world-class food & drinks.
“Instead of offering our guests with the cliched sit down meal concept, we wanted to indulge in them a little more. So, every evening we have some or the other theme which brings in successful people from all walks of life to come over and share their stories or simply hang around with the diners,” the manager of this upmarket pub and fine dining place, tells you. The evenings would be a platform for them to network, learn, explore opportunities, display/ sell their art (without any commission) and compile free portfolios. The art lovers would join them to witness and appreciate their creativity.
As was expected the first chapter of this unique theme opened to a full house with artists pouring in from all parts of the country. Apart from the expansive eating area and a well functional bar, Sandy’s has an activity room which will display works of the geniuses.
For the art week, there was a complete gallery where connoisseurs of art could saunter in and marvel at the creation of the artists. “We have just redefined eating out. Now, it is no longer just about eat, drink and leave. Our idea is that the guest spends considerable time to hang out with like-minded people and share a few thoughts. The reception to this concept has been mindblowing,” the manager concludes.
