With the Assembly polls in Punjab due next year, AAP convener and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will begin his three-day visit to the State on Sunday during which he will launch the party’s youth manifesto and meet representatives of different sections of the society.
“Kejriwal will first visit Amritsar from Sunday (July 3) as part of his three-day visit to Punjab,” an AAP leader said.
According to party sources, Kejriwal will try to expand party base in the State by participating in many programmes in which he will meet with many people.
Kejriwal will reach Amritsar in the evening. After paying obeisance at the Golden Temple, he will head to pray at Dugiyana Mandir. After that, he will initiate his Punjab visit by releasing party’s manifesto for the youths. The AAP is eyeing the youth, who form the majority in the State. “Connect with the youth of Punjab” is the aim of the party because in Delhi too the youth have turned out to be the best bet for the party in polls.
The party has given weightage to youth-related needs, their problems and issues in the manifesto and said on being elected to power, the party will address burning issues like unemploynment, education, drug menace among others.
On his second day of tour, Kejriwal will go to Gurdaspur, Jalandhar and Malerkotla where he is expected to meet different sections of the society, including industry representatives. At the end of the tour, he will visit ludhiana and Khanna and meet with industrialists and businessmen. He will meet with AAP leaders and volunteers too and urge them to gear up for election in the State.
He has already called it an opportune time for the AAP to come to power in Punjab and for this preparations are underway on the lines of the 2015 Delhi Assembly polls.
