At the launch of Bhagat Singh’s Jail Note Book on Saturday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal lamented over the “obstacles” being faced by his Government in the national Capital. The CM said that it has not entered into any “setting” unlike the previous dispensation in the city.
lashing out at both the BJP and the Congress, Kejriwal alleged that both the parties have “similar characters” in terms of being “corrupt and exploitative”. He said the task taken up during the Anna Hazare-led anti-corruption movement was continuing.
“Some people wonder as to why the previous Delhi Governments did not face any such trouble. We too would have had a smooth ride, had we not tried to shake the prevailing system. Previous Governments had entered into settings.
“For example, we could have entered into a setting with power companies. But our stance is of zero corruption. We took suo motu action against our Minister based on an SMS by throwing him out of the Cabinet,” he said.
Speaking about the book, Bhagat Singh’s Jail Note Book launched at India Habitat Centre, the Chief Minister said that it will make the book available in school libraries.
Along with chief guest Arvind Kejriwal, the book launch was attended by Harish Jain, author and publisher of Bhagat Singh’s Jail Note Book, Kuldip Nayar, veteran Indian journalist and author, Sumail Singh Sidhu, scholar and activist Rajinder Pal Brar, Chairman — Punjabi department, Chandigarh.
