Katrina Kaif is on a hot ad roof

This Diwali saw Katrina Kaif wishing her near and dear ones via an application called the line app. “line is a very innovative, interactive and personal platform when compared to other apps in the market. Nothing engages users as much. I have always been  interested in technology as a domain. Consumer technology is a burgeoning space and I am excited about how brands have been introducing cutting edge services at such rapid pace,” Kaif, who endorsed line, says.

Apart from the tech brands , the lady has also joined the lux divas in promoting HUl’s latest variant of soaps. According to the buzz, she has already replaced Kareena Kapoor as the highest brand endorsee in Bollywood, having charged a paint company a whopping Rs 7 crore.

So, as a celebrity what does one look for before signing the endorsementIJ “It’s important to ensure that the chosen product reflects one’s personality. I believe that a significant part of choosing a brand is understanding its ethos, emotions and utility for the end user,” Kaif says.

With 11 top brands deepika is up there

For most brand owners, there cannot be a better ambassador than Deepika Padukone who has a personality that can carry any product without looking weird. According to the buzz, Padukone has upped her endorsement fee by Rs 2 crore after the success of her recent film Chennai Express. She charged a soap company Rs 6 crore for a one-minute advertisement campaign. Padukone is also the face of many skin care products wherein she charges Rs 4-5 crore per brand as annual endorsement fee.

A leading portal on brand endorsements puts Padukone in the third spot, a few notches below Katrina Kaif when it comes to the moolah. While Kat has 13 endorsements to her name, Padukone is inching closer with 11 top brands. Her total annual turnover from advertisements alone is said to be more than Rs 25 crore which is the same as Priyanka Chopra who endorses 15 brands. Padukone is also the exclusive ambassador for a premium watch brand which pays her Rs 8 crore for a full -term endorsement deal.
