Three accused in the Mecca Masjid blast case — Devender Gupta, lokesh Sharma and Rajesh Choudhary — were shifted from Chanchalguda Central Jail to Charalapally Central jail over security reasons.
Officials of National Investigation Agency (NIA), who had brought the three accused from Jaipur to Hyderabad for hearing in the Mecca Masjid blast case in a local court took them to Charalapally jail on Saturday with permission of the court.
Sources said that the step was taken in view of the presence of 16 other accused of various terror-related cases in Chanchalguda jail and there were apprehensions that Devender Gupta and two others could face security problems in the prison.
Though the Hyderabad court granted bail to the three accused in the Mecca Masjid blast case earlier, they continue to remain in jail as they are also accused in the Ajmer Shareef Dargah blast case.
