BJP to comply with SC order on babus

The Delhi BJP on Saturday assured that the party will comply with the orders of the Supreme Court on making the bureaucracy free from political pressure and providing honest, clean and transparent administration. It said the move will help in preventing political interference and curb corruption in the administrations. BJP's chief ministerial candidate for Delhi Harsh Vardhan said that all the people of Delhi will get the benefit of this change.

He said that that Delhi will become the first State of the country where the IAS and other senior bureaucrats shall have complete freedom to work and take decisions in the interest of the people. "The entire system of the Government will be made online so that any information may be obtained easily under RTI. Except sensitive cases, the BJP proposes to make all the Government decisions and proceedings and files online," said Vardhan.

Vardhan said that the difference between law makers and the IAS officers is that the law makers are elected by the people to serve them, whereas IAS officers and other bureaucrats are selected by a board formed by the Government. They are deputed for serving the people only after proper training.

The BJP leader also said that it was making all efforts to fight the Delhi Assembly elections united with its natural ally — Shiromani Akali Dal — to defeat the Congress Government and asserted that the party does not want the alliance to break at any cost. BJP's initiative to salvage the alliance came in the backdrop of the Delhi unit of Shiromani Akali Dal announcing to contest 16 seats on its own in the December 4 Assembly polls while breaking away from one of its oldest allies.

"We have been working in close coordination with them and I would never like the alliance to be broken at any cost. This is the view of the party also. Efforts are on and I expect the results to be positive," Vardhan added.
