The BJP Delhi Pradesh Mahila Morcha on Saturday staged a demonstration against ever increasing prices of essential commodities in the Capital. Scores of BJP workers led by BJP Delhi president Vijay Goel and Mahila Morcha president Sudha Sharma started their protest march from party's national headquarters at Ashoka Road.

They try to proceed towards the residence of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi but they were stopped by security personnel. Water-cannon were also used to disperse the protesters. Addressing the party workers, Goel said that the Delhi Government wants to implement food security scheme in Delhi from August 20 but the reality is that no ration cards have been issued for the last 15 years in the city. "PDS System has totally collapsed. Justice Wadhwa Committee has found that the PDS system in Delhi is one of the most corrupt and inefficient system in the country. Earlier, Annashri Yojna and Antyodaya Yojna started by the Delhi Government have fallen flat," he said.

The BJP leader further said now the Government wants to hoodwink the people by talking about Food Security Scheme. "This scheme will meet the same fate as the Rajiv Ratna Aawas Yojna. The people of Delhi know all these things and they shall give a fitting reply to the Congress at proper time," he added.

Mahila Morcha Pradesh president Sudha Sharma said that the Government has no control over price rise of essential commodities. "As a housewife I know that how much the price rise has adversely affected the household of the people. Now even vegetables are out of the reach of common man. We are not in a position to provide nutritious food to our children," she said.
