After Prashant Bhushan and Shanti Bhushan, Delhi Congress and Delhi BJP have criticised the AAP Government for diluting the Jan lokpal Bill from its original draft. leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta called the Jan lokpal Bill as AAP Government’s “biggest treachery”. He said that the Government has deceived the huge mandate on the basis of which it came to power by diluting the power of the Jan lokpal and making it a political appointment in its draft bill.
Delhi Congress’s spokesperson Sharmistha Mukherjee told The Pioneer that the lokpal bill tabled by AAP should not be diluted and must remain in its form as it was in the year 2014. “When Kejriwal resigned the issue was Jan lokpal Bill and people got them back so that they could bring the bill without any dilution. It should have been cleared much earlier. AAP MlAs are getting charge sheets and arrested...who will check the credibilityIJ It is this thing for which the lokpal is important,” she added.
