Terming the first year of AAP Government, a “black year” and “year of confrontations”, Delhi BJP on Saturday demanded that the Centre “dismiss” the Arvind Kejriwal dispensation for “violations of the Constitution”.
Addressing a Press conference, Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay, South Delhi MP Ramesh Bidhuri, leader of Opposition Vijendra Gupta and former MlA RP Singh announced that Delhi BJP will observe “protest day” on Sunday, when the AAP Government completes one year in office.
like Congress, Delhi BJP has also given zero out of ten to the Kejriwal Government’s performance. Moreover, posters with slogans like “har roz naya bawaal, pehla saal Kejriwal” (everyday a new controversy, first year Kejriwal), “kharche se Dilli behaal, pehla saal Kejriwal” (Delhi troubled with expenses, first year Kejriwal) were put across the city by the BJP.
Gupta referred to a list of 52 notifications released by the Delhi Government and claimed these were in “violation of the Constitution and laid down rules”.
“The Central Government should not overlook the violations of the Constitution. I will soon meet Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and apprise him of major instances of violation of the Constitution, laws and rules by the AAP Government,” Gupta said.
“There have been myriad Constitutional violations by the AAP Government with a malicious political intent to create a situation of confrontation. Their tenure began with the Chief Minister conveying to the lt. Governor that barring the three subjects i.e. ‘public order’, ‘police’ and ‘land’ (reserved subjects), all other subjects had been transferred to the legislature of NCT of Delhi.
“The CM has used unparliamentarily and foul language against the Prime Minister. He also made several attempts to initiate a malicious campaign against the senior Ministers in the Central Government to mask their own failures,” he added.
Calling the CM a master of politics, Upadhyay alleged that 70 points of the AAP Government have turned out to be 70 bluffs.
“As we analyse the Government’s performance on the basis of people’s feedback, the report card gives a zero out of ten to the Government. Amongst the promises which the Delhi Government made to the people, electricity at half rates and free water for all were the main. One year later, Delhi continues to get electricity at the same rates while the power discoms got a lot of subsidies. Be it, unauthorised colonies, jhuggi clusters, group housing societies, villages or other colonies in the city nowhere water is free. People of lower, middle and upper income groups are equally agitated as they get high electricity and water bills.”
BJP National Secretary Sardar RP Singh said the Sikh community voted almost en masse for Kejriwal’s party but in this one year they have got only phantasm.
“The trust of the Sikh Community in Kejriwal fell flat on the day when it was reported that confidential files related to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots had gone missing from the Delhi Secretariat,” he said.
