Four bikers allegedly opened fire in Block-W of South Delhi’s posh Sanik Farm of the national Capital on Friday evening. While no casualty was reported, none of the bikers could be identified and arrested.
The incident occurred around 5:30 PM in W-Block of the area, when four persons on two bikes entered the area and opened five-seven rounds of fire in the air, police said. However, no injuries were reported as it is said that the bikers did not target anyone.
We were present at the time of incident and as soon as we heard the fire, we locked ourselves inside our bungalow, said one of the residents of the area.
The two CCTV cameras installed in one of the bungalows captured the whole incident. It is evident from the CCTV footage that the bikers shot openly just just to create panic in the area. “One of the bikes was Royal Enfield Bullet and I could not see the other one,” said owner of the bungalow that has CCTV cameras, Pinky Singhal. The other resident of the bungalow, Dinesh Singhal said, “I was at my shop at the time of the incident and when I heard about the incident I hid inside the shop.”
Police are investigating into the matter and trying to identify the bikers with the help of the CCTV footage they have seized. The reason with which the bikers entered the area is still to be investigated, added police.
Meanwhile, the incident raises questions as to how accused could not be nabbed even when the Neb Sarai police station is only 500 meters away and it also questions the security of the W-block which has two gates where the security guards were present at the time of the incident.
