Bihar Government embezzling SC/ST funds, alleges Sushil Modi

Published on:

Senior BJP leader Sushil Modi on Saturday accused the Bihar Government of embezzling funds, meant for the SC/ST post-Matric scholarship, under the name of fake and non existent students and institutions.

While on the other hand the SC/ST students were forced to threaten to commit suicide over non-payment of their scholorship in Odisha, he added.

Modi, a former Deputy CM said that the Government  had selected 60 SC/ST students for admission in 12 different technical institutions in Uttrakhand, MP and Karnataka but their scholorship totaling over Rs1.03 crore was released in March 2015.

All these students belong to Nawada district and of the total 60 students, 50 were admitted in five institutes in Dehradoon.

Modi revealed that the officials on physical verification found that none of those students ever lived in eight blocks of Nawada and also most of the technical institutions in Dehradoon, Bhopal and Bengaluru were non-existent. Now the big question is to whom and where this money was sent, he asked.
