Bihar BJP has urged the party’s central leaders to formally announce Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as its prime ministerial candidate for 2014 lok Sabha election immediately in view of his huge popularity across the country.
An unanimous resolution to that effect was passed on the last day of the two-day State executive committee meeting at Bodh Gaya on Saturday.Bihar BJP is the first State party unit to pass such a resolution in support of demand for declaring Narendra Modi as the PM nominee for the lS election. State Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had snapped the 17-year-old alliance with the BJP in mid-June after the elevation of Modi as the Chief the BJP election campaign panel at the partyRs s Goa meet and once the formality of the break-up of the alliance was complete, State BJP leaders had started pitching for Narendra Modi very aggressively and their latest move is seen as one more step in the same direction.
Modi will also attend the BJP sponsored “Hoonkar Rally” in Patna on October 27, kick starting the partyRs s election campaign for the lok Sabha election in the State. Former Deputy Chief Minster Sushil Kumar Modi introduced the resolution at the State executive meet, urging the party central leadership to declare Narendra Modi as the PM nominee for the next parliamentary election without any further delay. The resolution was seconded by the leader of Opposition in the State Assembly, Nand Kishore Yadav.
State BJP leaders demanded that the meeting of the Central Parliamentary Board should be held soon for declaring the name of Narendra Modi as the PM nominee for the lS election. In the resolution, Narendra Modi was described as a leader who works with a vision and a missionary zeal. He was also called an honest, active, and sensitive politician who is fully committed to the nation’s interest by discharging his duties with the positive energy. The son of a tea seller has emerged as a natural choice for the PM nominee for the lS election as his popularity can be well experienced at every nook and corner of the country.
