She has played a warrior princess in Ashoka. A glamourous girl in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. A die-hard lover in Omkara. A bubbly, chirpy, go-getter in Jab We Met and romcom woman in Golmaal 3 and 3 Idiots. Kareena Kapoor Khan believes in living a diverse life on the big screen. She is coming again to surprise you with yet another contemporary love story Ki and Ka. She not only plays a new avatar of a modern day wife who is independent and aspirational but also believes in earning her living and making a mark for herself in whatever she does. What brings a twist is her husband played by Arjun Kapoor who loves to be a house husband.
“Ki and Ka is different from other films I have done in the past. It has a different take on gender. Most people say that man is the breadwinner. Women have to be at home and look after the kids and the marriage. This film talks about how it doesn’t really matter if you are a man or a woman. What matters is that love and understanding supersede everything. Respect of each other and the choices made are a very important aspect of marriage. Today, women are leading the pact and are in the forefront, especially in male-dominated professions. Instead if gender differentiation, one must focus on empowerment and progression of each other,” Bebo says.
Her recent song High heels with Arjun Kapoor made a lot of news for its funny quirks. “Shooting for songs are a lot of fun. In this song, Arjun is dressed as a woman and wears high heels. He got into the woman’s shoes very well. Arjun Kapoor is a dear friend and we get along well,” she says.
Resting on the anticipation of her coming film, Bebo says she is now feasting on her all time favourite — the ice-cream specially with the temperatures soaring to 29 degrees. “The fusion of chocolate and brownie is world famous and so is Magnum. You can’t resist this temptation. My favourite flavour was Magnum Classic until I tried chocolate brownie. It’s absolutely fantastic,” she tells you on the sidelines of an event sponsored by the ice-cream brand.
Kareena has been the brand’s ambassador ever since its launch last year.
“Having ice cream makes me feel happy. I was always an ice cream girl. We used to say the popular rhythm — I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream. Be it after school, nightouts with friends or during wee hours, ice cream used to be the best option to indulge anytime, and kill the hunger pangs. I would always end up eating more than one. It’s just not enough to just restrict yourself to one. But I also make sure that I follow my fitness routine daily as we owe to our body and health is wealth in today’s time,” Bebo says.
