Family members of Sahab Singh and Kaptan Singh who were shot dead by dreaded criminals in Outer Delhi’s Sultanpur Dabas area have decided to take up the matter with Delhi lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung on Monday.
The family members and the villagers are disturbed by the rowdism spread in the area and ineffectiveness of the police officials in curbing the crime in the region. A day after the incident the family members of the slain brothers are appalled at the sloth behaviour of the local police who have shown least interest in apprehending the criminals. “The police had called us to the hospital in the morning and then till the evening the post-mortem was not conducted. later around 4:30pm the body was handed over to us for the final rites,” said Tara Chand, uncle of the deceased brothers.
He also alleged that the police officials are carrying out the investigation at a snail’s pace. “It is unbelievable that no arrest has been made so far. The police officials knew the accused well and have not been able to trace them,” said one of the family member. The family members will now meet the lieutenant-Governor in a couple of days demanding justice against the accused men.
Meanwhile police teams raided several locations on the outskirts of the Capital but have been unable to trace the car and the accused.
