Film star Nandamuri Balakrishna, who is determined to contest the coming elections on Telugu Desam Party ticket despite reservations expressed from his brother-in-law N Chandrababu Naidu, is on a pilgrimage of major temples across Andhra Pradesh.
Balakrishna said that he would take a decision on his constituency after consultations with Chandrababu Naidu. His decision to enter electoral fray has once again brought the uneasy relations between Naidu and the rest of NTR clan in to focus once again.
Balakrishna, whose latest blockbuster Telugu movie legend has hit the screens recently, has assured his fans that he will continue to act in the film while playing a key role in politics.
The actor performed worship at Narasimha Swamy temple in Mangalgiri on Wednesday, a day after he visited the famous Simhachalam temple in Visakhapatanam. Earlier he had also visited the Tirumala Tirupati Devsthanam.
Ever since Naidu-led revolt against his father-in-law NT Rama Rao in 1995 and took over the reigns of Government and the party, his relations with the NTR family has been turbulent. While one sister-in-law D Purandeswari and co-brother Daggubati Venkateshwara Rao revolted against him, left TDP and joined the Congress party and have now moved to the BJP, another brother-in-law Harikrishna is sulking on being sidelined.
