Hauz Khas Village is buzzing at all times of the day — something the young owners of Moonshine Cafe and Bar realised a tad late. The five-friends immediately did some brain storming and decided to open the cafe for lunch-goers also. The resultIJ “Mind boggling!,” is what they tell you in unison.
“When we opened the place, we wanted to run it as a bar with live music and the jazz, but a lot of people sauntered in the afternoon looking for a place to snack. With a tweak in our menu, we opened during lunch and the response has been great. We are brimming with activity at every hour too,” the owner tells you, adding that the tandoori items in the menu and bite sized burgers sell like hot cakes. So do the drinks which are refreshing and innovative. “We want to make use of the huge space. So, we have created a different music zone for our guests who prefer different kind of music. We also organise sufi nights and other special occasions that keeps the crowd coming,” he says.
For winters, they are contemplating a lazy Sunday brunch facing the lake and ruins. “We have plans of an outdoor seating arrangement. But that needs to be worked upon,” he informs.
