A reader, referring to the previous issue has raised question on the validity of the theory of reincarnation. I can appreciate that it will be difficult for those having exposure to a philosophic concept which believes in single birth concept to digest the possibility of reincarnation. In this context, it will be interesting to note that there seems to be similarity in the perception of modern science and ancient India’s philosophic concept, in so far as the energy principle of creation is concerned. Both schools agree on one count that following entropy at the Primordial-Source, the energy streams emanating there from set into motion the creation chain. Following the course of progressive evolution that eventually manifested into the multipolar world we live in.
The obvious implication is that all forms of existence in the world are nothing but transformation of energy streams sourced to nature. Given the scientific findings that energy and matter are interconvertible, it sounds reason. Here again, in terms of scientific perception, a being apparently made of hardened bone and flesh, remains at subatomic level nothing but an inseparable web of vibrating energy patterns. And energy doesn’t perish, it can, however, change forms. So, how can a being’s existence end for once and ever with just the gross body becoming lifelessIJ Even the gross body doesn’t get extinguished, rather its fundamental constituents — space, air, fire, water, and earth elements — merge with their respective source in nature. Inferential logic will suggest that the energy platform on which a being stands, can though change its outer garb, but will not get extinguished. As already discussed in the previous issue, the causal and astral bodies that are pure energy platforms, on which the gross body is premised, remain intact. Carrying all the memory imprints picked up during a life time, it moves on to acquire a new body frame. So, on any count, the theory of reincarnation can’t be termed as unscientific.
The above facts are duly supported by empirical evidences also. lot of cases are in evidence where during early childhood one has past birth remembrances, which they forget after a certain age. What they talked of their past birth has been verified and found to be true in course of organized study. And there is no other way to explain even varying characteristics of twins. The purpose here is not to glorify some metaphysical concept. But then, without acknowledging this fundamental truth, it will not be possible to understand the usual run of individual mind and psyche, and the way it responds to cross fire from all across. Even the discipline of astrology is premised on this concept. For, a look at the map of heaven at the time of one’s birth, reveals with a fair amount of precision, the carryover effect of the cause-effect chain to which one is one is embedded, and which sets the terms of individual specific mind trends.
Would it mean that our life is fated, and with no scope of any escape from its bindsIJ If it be so, then what is the meaning of the power of freewill we are supposedly endowed with, which grants us with choice optionIJ The answer is paradoxically both yes and no. Remember, human mind is empowered to self-reflect upon itself and figure out the seed-thoughts it carries from the past, which may find reflection, given a congenial ground. The irony, however, is that our ego often doesn’t let us dispassionately figure out one’s own inherent trends. It is here that astrology comes handy. For, it knows no bias. If anyway, we try to know our own self, we could make necessary amends through fresh educative inputs, here again applying our choice option.
Remember, the very choice option that binds us to a circuitous web of cause-effect chain, enjoins upon us with the privilege to come out of its bind also. It works many ways. We may conscientiously drive away a good part of our negative imprints out of our consciousness. In that case they may stop involuntarily influencing our usual conduct. Second, we may consciously deny the ground necessary for any imprint from coming into play. Finally, we may feed our mind with existential truths through fresh educative inputs. When these inputs firm up their roots in the deep realms of our mind, may help spontaneously pick up right leads in life. But if we leave ourselves to the usual flow of life, without caring to know our own self, we may remain bound by the call of destiny.
