Ally turns foe-in-camp for Cong in Kerala

The Kerala Congress (B), a traditional ally of Congress in the ruling UDF, has turned into an enemy for it over non-reallocation a Cabinet berth which the party had been holding.

Former Minister R Balakrishna Pillai, chairman of the KC(B), has made it clear that his party would now go all out against the Congress. The party has decided to take on the Congress and the Government headed by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy almost on all issues over which the Opposition has been attacking it.

Pillai said, “The UPA Government had endorsed the lPG price hike in order to help the Ambanis. We cannot accept such injustice. We will hold dharnas on January 10 in front of Central Government offices in protest against the lPG price hike.”
