All the Muslim organisations in Hyderabad have given a clarion call to the Muslim community specially the youth to be wary of the propaganda and activities of the terrorist organisation ISIS or Daesh and foil the nefarious attempts of this “anti-Islamic group” to disturb the peace and tranquility and create ill will and hatred against the Muslims among their compatriots in the country.
A massive meeting organised by all the Muslim parties and organisations to protest against the bomb blast in the second holiest place of Islam, Madina in Saudi Arabia, passed a resolution vehemently condemning the violence and terror unleashed by the ISIS in Madina and other parts of the world during the holy month of Ramazan.
Through their sustained but distorted propaganda on the social media, the ISIS has been making attempts to spread its nefarious designs and tentacles to various Muslim and non-Muslim countries, by seeking to recruit youth and enlist the support of fringe terror groups operating in those countries. They are also resorting to extortions, narcotic smuggling and other illegal means to raise finances for carrying out their activities and procuring conventional and non-conventional weapons, the resolution said.
The meeting was attended by more than a lakh of Muslims who repeatedly shouted slogans in condemnation of the dastardly terror attacks by the ISIS.
The meeting was chaired by the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president Asaduddin Owaisi and addressed by the representatives of more than 20 organisations represented by various school of thoughts and sects of Muslims.
“The Indian Muslims have always been faithful to their homeland. They have been the first to sacrifice their lives to protect this nation. A great responsibility is cast on us to effectively counter the destructive ideology propagated by ISIS and similar outfits so that this country is insulated from their evil designs and the Muslims and their compatriots live in peace and harmony”, the resolution said.
This rare demonstration of unity in the ranks of Indian Muslims against the ISIS and terrorism at large came in the backdrop of series of deadly attacks by ISIS in diferent parts of the world which left 800 people dead during Ramadan. The protest meeting came at a time when the National Investigation Agency has also claimed busting of a terror module linked to ISIS in Hyderabad.
The resolution moved by the United Muslim Forum president Moulana Raheemuddin Ansari described ISIS as “anti Islam and “a tool of the Western Powers against Islamic countries”.
“ISIS is a terrorist organisation with the ulterior motive of spreading chaos and mayhem in Muslim countries as well as other non-Muslim nations across the globe. This is an outfit tracing its roots and propagating the ideology of Kharijis (ex communicated from Islam) who had sought to spread disaffection and violence”, the resolution said.
The ISIS has nothing to do with Islam and its principles and tenets, and, in fact, all its activities and terror attacks are meant to strike at the very roots of Islam, it said.
“The ISIS is not only unIslamic but acts as a tool in the hands of Western forces who are enemies of Islam. In the garb of Muslims, they are defaming Islam. This band of “neo-Kharijis” had the audacity to proclaim itself to be a so-called world-wide caliphate and appointing a self-styled caliph in 2014. These armed thugs have been letting loose a reign of terror in some parts of Iraq and Syria and spreading their subversive activities to other countries in the Gulf and North Africa, as well as to other Muslim nations and European, Asian and African countries”, the resolution added.
Referring to the outrageous attack at Madina, the resolution said, “We, the Indian Muslims, at this massive gathering in Hyderabad, strongly condemn this outrageous attack at Madina. The perpetrators of this violence at the holy city have incurred the wrath of Almighty Allah and the world will soon witness the destruction of these unholy men who are making attempts to harm Islam and demonise the Muslims”.
These hoodlums have been resorting to gross human rights abuse, through persecution of Muslims and religious minority groups, ill-treatment of civilians, including children, sexual violence and slavery, beheadings and mass executions and suicide bomb attacks. They have also been responsible for the destruction of cultural and religious heritage, including the tomb of Prophet Yunus, shrine of Prophet Jergis, mosque of Imam Yahya Abu al Qassimin and the Hadba minaret at the Great Mosque of Al-Nuri. Their savagery has hit the headlines and caused consternation and anger among the Muslims all over the world.
Various other organisations of Muslims in Hyderabad, the Ulemas, Mashaq, Islamic seminaries and Muslim intellectuals and public representatives have been in the forefront of condemning the activities and pronouncements of the ISIS since 2014, it noted.
The resolution was supported by leading Muslim organizations including All India Muslim Personal law Board, Jamat-e-Islami Hind, Jamiatul Ulema-e-Hind, Majlis-e-Tameer-e-Millat, Majlis Ulema-e-Deccan, Amaarate Millate Islamia, Jamiatul Mashaiq, and the prominent scholars and clerics from leading seminary Jamia Nizamia, and representatives of various Muslim sects including Shia, Dawoodi Bohra, and Mehdvi.
In his presidential remarks Asaduddin Owaisi said that the massive public meeting in Hyderabad was the voice of entire Indian Muslim community. “Despite the minor differences among Muslims, the city of Prophet (Madina) is one thing which unites all the Muslims and they will not tolerate any sacrilege against this holiest of the holy places”.
He strongly condemned the forces which were trying to create doubts about the Indian Muslims by linking them to ISIS.
“Indian Muslims are united to fight both against the Daesh and the Sangh Parivar’s dangerous designs”, he said.
