After routing Cong, BJP demands Hooda's resignation

With the ruling Congress in Haryana managing to win just one of the 10 lok Sabha seats in the State, the BJP on Saturday demanded resignation of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on moral grounds.

The Opposition party also demanded that Assembly polls in the State, which are due in October, should be held immediately. People have rejected Congress and the Chief Minister should step down on moral grounds, BJP’s legislature Party leader from Haryana Anil Vij said.“We demand Hooda’s resignation and immediate holding of the Assembly elections,” Vij, the Ambala Cantt MlA, said. “The CM had been boasting that his Haryana model of development was the best in the country. He always used to find faults with the Gujarat model. He used to say that Haryana is No 1 State on all fronts. His cliams were hollow,” Vij said.

“Now, Hooda should quit on moral grounds as the people of Haryana have outrightly rejected the Congress and its policies,” he added.
