After rescue, FIR registered against unnamed accused

A day after city Police rescued six 'African nationals' who were being harassed by a hostile crowd gathered outside their homes in Hari Vihar in Dwarka following rumours that they were cannibals and abducting children, a case has been registered against unnamed people on Saturday after two Tanzanian women complained that they were wrongfully restrained at Dwarka.

"A First Information Report (FIR) under section 341/34 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been filed in North Dwarka police station on the basis of complaint," said the senior police official.

"We are also scanning CCTV footage in the area to identify the culprits and further investigation is going on," the senior police official added.
