ACB begins questioning of TDP MlA

Telugu Desam Party MlA A Revanth Reddy, who was arrested in cash for vote scam, on Saturday faced a volley of questions from the officials of Telangana Anti-Corruption Branch.

Revanth Reddy along with his two aides Sebastian and Uday Sinha were taken in to custody by the ACB on Saturday morning and brought to the ACB headquarters in Banjara Hills.

A team headed by a deputy superintendent of police questioned Revanth Reddy and two others separately. Sources said that the questions were mainly focused on the source of Rs50 lakh Revanth Reddy allegedly paid to the nominated MlA Elvis Stephan on Sunday last. The ACB officials also wanted to know the whereabouts of the remaining Rs4.5 crore which he promised to him after he cast his vote in favor of TDP candidate in legislative Council elections. The ACB also asked him who else was involved in this attempt by the MlA’s vote.

For Revanth Reddy’s lawyers the day started amid confusion. As the ACB officials came to Charalapally prison to take Revanth Reddy and two others in four days custody and later left in a vehicle, the lawyers also followed it to the ACB office. But at the ACB office they were told that only Sebastian and Uday Sinha were brought there. But the jail officials initially said that even Revanth Reddy was also taken to the ACB office. But later they changed the statement saying Revanth Reddy was still in jail and only two others were taken. Angry lawyers held a protest demonstration at the jail alleging that the ACB was questioning Revanth Reddy at an undisclosed location in violation of the court orders that he should be questioned only in the presence of his lawyers.

later ACB officials brought Revanth from jail around 2 pm and questioned him for almost one and a half hours in the presence of his lawyers.
