The political ranks were abuzz on Saturday evening with news that former Delhi Assembly Speaker and MlA from Jangpura MS Dhir is set to join the BJP in a day or two.
The leader in recent days had criticised the Aam Aadmi Party and its convener Arvind Kejriwal alleging that the party lacked internal democracy and was autocratic. He had also lauded the initiatives taken by Prime Minister Modi and had said that the “country was on the right track under his leadership”. Although there was no confirmation about his joining, sources within the party said any member is welcome into the saffron fold. “It’s election time and we will welcome anybody who wants to join us with open arms. Dhir is also most welcome but so far we have not got any such formal communication,” said a senior BJP leader.
Dhir however, could not be reached for a comment.
