AAP to give a 'personal' touch to electioneering

With just three weeks to go for the Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is going full throttle with its final stroke of mass campaigning across the Capital. Sunday onwards, party's convenor Arvind Kejriwal will visit all the 70 constituencies and meet residents personally to woo voters.

Tilted as 'Jhadu Chalao Beimaan Bhagao', the party leaders believe the road show will help widen its reach to the people. The campaign, which will kick start from Old Chandrawal in Civil lines from 10 am on Sunday, will have the party's chief ministerial candidate at the forefront.

"The road show will have our members and supporters campaigning in bikes and cars. Our party convenor, Kejriwal, will personally meet all the localites seeking their support for the party. The aim is to make them aware and join hands with us in our endeavour to cleanse the political system. As it is only with the people's help that we can get rid of not just the corrupt, but corruption as well," said Manish Sisodia, who will fight from East Delhi's Patparganj seat for AAP. On Sunday, Kejriwal is expected to visit Chandni Chowk, Matia Mahal and Ballimaran constituencies where he will spend over two hours in each area interacting with the residents.

The road show will end on December 1 with Kejriwal and other AAP members visiting New Delhi, RK Puram, Rajinder Nagar and Delhi Cantonment constituencies. "Routes for the yatra have been prepared in a way where we can travel more on the inner main roads. We would be going to villages, resettlement colonies, unauthorised colonies; all of which have been finalised after consultation with candidates, local volunteers and the common man," informed Prashant Bhushan, AAP member. Kejriwal will visit each constituency for over two hours, he added.

"The road show will be over by four pm each day after which Kejriwal will be addressing 'Jan Sabhas' every evening. In that, there will be productive discussions with the masses where even their grievances will be heard," said Sanjay Singh, AAP member.
