The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday accused the BJP-run civic bodies of misguiding people by circulating wrong information on funds paid to the civic bodies under the "Medical and Public Health".
Out of the money paid to the civic bodies by the Delhi Government during the last financial year for "Medical and Public Health", Rs213.8 crores lying unspent as on March 31 this year.
According to the party, the break up for North Delhi Municipal Corporation is Rs130.8 cr for medical and Rs13.5 cr for Public Health. South Delhi Municipal Corporation had Rs8.6 crore for Medical and Rs7 crore for Public Health, whereas East Delhi Municipal Corporation had Rs. 47.7 crore for Medical and Rs6.2 crore for Public Health.
"This was money classified under the "planned" head; over and above what was the 'non-planned' assistance given to the three municipal bodies. "Utilisation Certificates" for unspent money have not been submitted by the three BJP-run municipal bodies," said a party leader.
"The Aam Aadmi Party would like to ask the BJP leaders — where is this moneyIJ Why this was not spent for public healthcare and tackling vector-borne diseases all this whileIJ Why have the civic bodies been crying hoarse over non-availability of funds when this balance is already lying in their accountIJ" he added.
