In yet another sensational incident, a 5-year-old Dalit girl was kidnapped and raped by unidentified miscreants who left her in a secluded place in Hapur. The victim, who was found in critical state, was rushed to Medical College in Meerut.
The victim’s father claimed to have been dialing 100 for over two hours to contact local police but his call was unattended. Thereafter, he, along with local villagers, launched a manhunt to find the girl. Agitated over the police negligence, villagers blocked NH-24 for several hours on Saturday morning. It was only after senior officers reached the spot and pacified the agitators with promise of arresting the accused.
Sources said that the 5-year-old Dalit girl was sleeping with her family members outside her house in Pilkuha locality in Hapur district on Friday night. Around mid-night, when the victim’s father woke up he found his daughter missing. He then raised an alarm and alerted the family members. PNS
