A 32-year-old domestic help, employed at the residence of a Greater Kailash-based businessman, was arrested for raping and threatening another domestic help working at the same residence. The accused, identified as Karthik Kuliya, had sexually assaulted the 20-year-old woman a year back and had also filmed the act. The accused started coercing and blackmailing the victim to concede to his demands of maintaining a physical relationship with him.
The woman narrated her ordeal to her brother and they approached the Station House Officer (SHO) of Greater Kailash Police Station. A case under Section 376 ( for rape), 354D (stalking), 506 ( for threatening to kill) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 57 of the Information and Technology(IT) Act was registered and the accused was arrested on charges mentioned in the FIR.
According to police, the incident came to light on Wednesday evening when the girl, along with her brother, approached police and narrated her story.
Investigation revealed that the accused had already uploaded the clip on the internet and it had gone viral. The brother of the victim was told by a friend about the video in which the girl resembled his sister. The brother was shocked to see the video and then took his sister in confidence and only then she told him about the incident. They then lodged a complaint, a police official said.
